He should have apologized or something to show support for her. He was part of the incident, it wasn't just her, and he left her hanging. It wouldn't have fixed everything, yes, but why does it have to? At the very least, it would have been nice to have someone in Janet's corner as she was being cornered by the entire nation.

But I understand that would have compromised the suave, pretty boy image his career relied on and so any apology was out of the question.
