Quirky!
This relatable bop is a look into Kelis and her marriage and it's ultimate end. Kelis doesn't break out the ice cream for it though, instead she gets the piano loop and horns and goes fishing. A refreshing take on the issue and a welcome edition to her discography. She seems so cool on the chorus but really goes off begging him not to leave before cooling and decidingshe's actually glad.
Rumble was the second single from Food and got a pretty cute video actually. Exactly the kind of aesthetic you expect from Food and it works! It's quirky as the song itself and mature & refined beyond her past work. That said, the song failed to chart anywhere notable.
Diarrhoea was never in on the joke, "I never got into this song the chorus sounds empty, and I don't like the piano riff either." What do you like heathen? Don't tell
HonourableVomit or we're all ****ed, "PERFECTION, if this isn't top 5 you're all ****ed." Yikes.
Eeveelution, like myself, has grown to love this one, "I don't using this much when the album came out, but it's grown on me over the years. I love the lyrics; she could have made some weepy ballad about the breakdown of her marriage but it's actually pretty uplifting."
ECNEICSNOC must feel strongly about this one, as he calls the name of God: "Her raspy pleas in the bridge remind me of Prince. Which could only be a good thing."
