The games haven't ever been particularly challenging, so having naturally caught Pokémon versus my bred ones hasn't affected my enjoyment very much. I've only done this the once back in XY, though - and in that case, once I finished breeding, my "challenge" was going through the rest of the game with underleveled Pokémon. I never went out of my way for experience, didn't use the absurd EXP share, etc.
I won't be doing it with SuMo, though. It took way too much time and I'll just go for catching decent-natured Pokémon for my first playthrough and breed for good ones later.
