LDN Noise's EDM has been extremely similar with almost all of their work with SM. They have no diversity. Yes when they don't do edm (like Monster and Dumb Dumb) it can actually be good, but their EDM is just...lacking.
Compare what SM artists have released to EDM currently dominating the West. SM pales in comparison. There is a reason this company has to work with SM and isn't getting gigs with Western Artists.
This is probably the biggest problem I have with SM overall. Why are they do desperate to get Western producers who can only make dated sounding singles for their artists? If they aren't buying 10 year old tracks that have been abandoned by the original artist, they're scrambling to get some irrelevant western producer to seem edgy or some ****. SM made the best music and not-surprisingly did the best digitally in Korea when they actually used Korean producers.
Obviously I'm exaggerating when I'm saying Taeyeon is going to flop. She's obviously going to at least sell 600k downloads even if the song is utter ****. I just don't want her to go SNSD's path. I don't want her to lose her credibility in terms of music. She's known now in the same vein as BigBang and IU. While obviously not as relevant, with only few solo projects she's already cemented herself as "someone you can trust to release good music"
I hoped SM would keep their awful EDM **** to f(x) and SHINee but it looks like they're desperate to try and make it a thing even if it risk's Taeyeon's solo career.
At this point I'm sure Red Velvet will also have something like Free Somebody/View/4Walls/Lucky One as their title track. SM is so persistent and I just want diversity. Yes if you like it then you'll enjoy it, but it's clear that it's not a popular sound as all of those tracks were not popular.
Free Somebody flopped
4 Walls flopped
View did decently, but wasn't considered a big hit and it's Youtube views are underwhelming
Lucky One is not doing well compared to Monster and it's youtube views are hardly gaining despite just being released
I just need SM find something else. This **** clearly isn't sticking
