I have a feeling that he'd end up selling fewer albums than the SNSD members if he released a solo. Maybe about 40k, like Ryeowook.

SM wasted their time, they could have use that DotS boost, like everyone and their mama that were on the show used it to boost their career. But SM just sent Onew back to the dungeon. As if they don't have a little quick single they could have given to him.

Well I doubt its SM fault or anything, Onew always liked being the "underdog" and he never showed any interest about going solo. Its not like SM is going to let someone to release a solo album if the artist doesn't want to
He had like ZERO solo activities before DOTS for years while the other members are filled with it, and now he's back to doing nothing. Its just how he wants to be

I was low-key annoyed that SM gave an EXO member a solo on Onew's show.
It would've been the perfect opportunity to launch him solo, but Chen's song sold 1 million, so I guess it was smart business-wise.
