I think we all just expected too much, and did underrate how brilliant Born This Way was. When I first heard "Applause" I thought it was weirdly unrelatable (though I understand now it's more of a "thank you fans" than anything, for supporting and letting her do her thing). Songs like "Fashion" and "Donatella" are just not great songs, they're simply not, they're cute bops, but for who we'd like think is the leading force in pop music, they were sub-par and would've better served as cute little soundcloud leaks.

When applause first leaked I thought it was fake and I told everyone in that thread that we should wait cause the 'leak' sounded unfinished and it was most likely a demo of a rejected song. And welp....

As much as I defended ARTPOP on release, it has aged like milk. The only songs I still use are Applause, DWUW and Sexxx Dreams, which was always my trinity.

Speaking of Applause, Troye Sivan included it in his Pride playlist and their was an audio of him talking before it saying how after seeing Gaga's 2009 pride speech in Washington it inspired him to come out to his family knowing he'd have a community to accept him.

Guys about the haters... I noticed a pattern in their style of dragging and it seems to work on most of yall. They use this betchy form of dragging that only really bitter ppl use. Like they say something, make it sound factual and follow it up with a wink or a gif that gives you "I'm superior" vibe or "I know what I'm saying is wrong but I'll say it just to piss you off loser ". Like they do that type of stuff and I see so many of you get angry or frustrated or you answer it wrongly. I like Ashanti's style of replying back. He literally answers them back in the same way. You can't make the losers think they are getting you or annoying you. Literally either dismiss them or reply in the same betchy kind of way.
It's the only way it could work.
Sorry for this super long message but I just noticed this and wanted to share my analysis of this whole thing with yall in hopes that it would low key help lol

I agree!!! For me The fame monster and Born this way are the masterpieces.
The fame was a good start.

Artpop was a decent album but not brilliant as the others.
Anyway, Do what you want without a video was a hit.
Gypsy,for me,was the hit of the album. The new ''edge of glory''
