Yeah, I'm pretty certain songs have been #1 on urban and not been top 100 on iTunes before. That would NEVER even come close to happening on pop or HAC!
The urban songs which sell well tend to be the ones which go viral on Vine or Youtube like Watch Me, Nasty Freestyle, Hot N*gga OR ones which crossover to pop radio like Work (or ones by white people but those tend to get pop airplay easier anyway).
Adorn is one of the biggest urban radio hits of all time AND is a really good song AND smashed when sales were near their all-time highest (AND got some pop airplay), and its sold only around a million. There's not much more you can do tbh.
