The irritating thing about all this is that these celebrities are really rich and powerful and can have a much bigger influence behind the scenes. For all we know Taylor could have immediately dropped a ton of $$$ to promote some form of charity or something similar, but instead people are dragging her because she didn't drop a tweet about it, like that's supposed to really do anything?
The problem is that Taylor is such a huge celebrity that any involvement she has with current issues turns the narrative away from the issue itself and onto her. Suddenly there would be article after article talking about her support specifically which would ultimately detract from the tragedy itself.
