Because they're always trying to find ways to make the game easier. Rather than harder which a lot of fans want.

This is just an oxymoron. Complaining about a free harmless feature that only serves to reinforce type effectiveness; and one that doesn't take away anything. Difficulty is focused elsewhere; higher levels, complex strategies and more diverse Pokémon teams. Not sure why some of you are nitpicking at a feature that only applies in battle.
