People finally coming around to Jason's Song (Slayed Your Fave)
The more I think of it, the more I actually think I would have preferred this album to be more majorly produced by Victoria/Tommy than Max Martin. An album of Knew Better/Forever Boys, LMLYs (but not that specific song
), Be Alrights (with some edits), and I Don't Cares would've been the real R&B pop album that Ari has been tiptoeing around all of this time. More of their song writing with a combination of the production on this album and on Christmas & Chill and it would top even this flawless album.
I still love most of the Martin tracks, but I think when people throw out that they don't know what Ariana's "sound" is, its because there are still tracks like his that confuse people. They are essentially songs anyone "could" do, if they had Ariana's vocal talent. This was the problem with My Everything too, even if the songs themselves are all very well made and Ariana sells them like its what shes always been doing. Tracks like "Everyday" and maybe even Sometimes could imo definitely fit more into that mold and still sound appropriate. I was honestly surprised Sometimes was produced by Martin
Am I alone in thinking this?
