I don't see anything wrong with what she said about this situation but you can't seriously be comparing Britney's struggles to the struggles of the LGBT community....

This is ****ing stupid and not all on the same wave-length of the struggles of the LGBT community.
And her rights weren't unfairly taken away, her parents had a judge put a conservatorship in place because she was a threat to herself and her children on more than one occasion.
IDK. Maybe I see things differently, but at the end of the day black people, members of the LGBT community, people with mental health issues, and other minorities are victims of a flawed society and government and instead of uniting to make positive change, people in each group push outsiders away even if that "outsider" is facing similar struggles. We need to stop creating divisions among people because that isn't going make things better. If Britney wants to show her support for the LGBT community and use the word "we," what's the big deal?! Support is support no matter who it is coming from and that support should be embraced instead of nit-picked over semantics. You never know if they person voicing his or her support may face similar struggles even if they are not part of the "group."
Did she just say "We have to love everyone for who they are" and post a picture of a rainbow-heart and there are people here saying she's not aknowledging it as an attack against gay people? I'm sorry but wtf?
This was a beautiful post from her
right?

why can't y'all just acknowledge this as a sweet message? Always picking every damn thing apart and turning it into something negative.

I don't mind her support or her use of "we" since I know what she means, but to compare the struggles of a popstar to those of the LGBT community is a little bit much.
This is bad politics though. People will feel more inclined to contribute to a cause if they feel like it affects them. If you want to say that nobody can suffer besides the LGBT community in this situation, calling others selfish for daring to say otherwise, you might be right; but in the process, you've intimidated a large group of people who may have otherwise helped. That's why you can't treat these types of things like an "us vs. them" game. Do you think 3% of the population can stand to the other 97%? Like it or not, the LGBT community is heavily dependent on other straight people for its own rights. That's why we have to let minor things like this slide under the table. The long run result will be much, much greater.
Divisive politics is the biggest scam in history.
I agree 100% with what you said dont get me wrong. Its more effective to address gun violence or police brutality as it effects everyone as a whole instead of certain people specifically. I could probably write an essay to you about why I feel like we aren't improving much on racism or homophobia or police brutality or whatever else in this country but it would stray from the topic right now. White people feel isolated and blamed with blacklivesmatter, non lgbt people will feel the same if we make the focus on this attack on the lgbt community. We are less effective in solving these issues by isolating the "majority", absolutely. At the same time its selfish and frustrating when privileged groups have to insert themselves in order for things to change and I feel people have the right to be angry with it just like some posters here.
This is not an attack on all of us, this is an attack on the gay community and she needs to stop inserting herself in it. She may be an ally (lol) but she is NOT one of us.
I am like so done. I am seriously out of energy. I live in an extremely homophobic country where nobody ever stands up for gay rights and the only time we appear in public news is cuz of sensetionalism. Here I hear my fave write kind supporting words and instead of celebrating that she supports LGBT rights I somehow end up in a middle of a petty stan war. It's really depressing and draining. I hope sometime in the future you people will learn to separate your stan personas from real ones
This is sweet, but I'm over the PC 2010 popgirl sayings of 'equality, yay, we're all the same, everyone!' without actually calling us by the name of LGBTQ.

She's not looking at us as ''the gays'' we're (for her) part of the society, part of an everything and you REALLY want to get away from it and become the ''minority''?
