Only in POP Radio. HAC/AC updates are great considering these formats are slow.
Even that Toothbrush song is doing a bit better than Adele on POP W/e still a solid update all around. Its clear though she is not increasing like other pop artists would.
Pop radio have never really wholeheartedly supported Adele though.
Its because Adele doesn't need to pander to get a pop hit, or any kind of hit. Adele is a Hot AC/ AC/Triple A kind of artist who just so happened to cross over into pop due to her incredible universal appeal. She is not a pop star in a conventional sense/way.
It's HAC and AC that will provide longevity in her career anyway. Pop radio always drops artists suddenly, and those who rely on just pop radio are ****ed if that happens to them.
It's funny though, we are in a time where pop radio now supports artists and not the singles per se. Payola also has a lot to do with it.
If a pop radio darling like Taylor or Katy released Send My Love, it would be number 1 on radio already.
W/e still a solid update all around. Its clear though she is not increasing like other pop artists would.
