Serious question for the Hillary supporters: Are y'all really pro-fracking and pro-death penalty?

She's the best person for the job. If another man or woman of color or otherwise was the best for the job then they would be the top contender for it, plain and simple - as the party that elected the first black man and soon the first woman to the Presidency, we know the value of minorities in positions of power.

I think it's difficult to make the argument that Julian Castro or Donna Edwards, as two currently active examples, are better candidates.

The idea of two white women on one ticket is just tone-deaf optics to me.
Besides, I'd we're going for Warren, why not just get the real deal and make Bernie VP? It's more sensible anyway.

It's assumed you are since you support the one major Democratic candidate in favor of them. These aren't minor issues.

I'm...half pro fracking. I mean clearly I'm here for clean energy but atm fracking is better than coal so if we're gonna **** up the planet do it better in the meantime while we quickly move to renewable energy

"Dodgy?" Okay. I mean, I and other voters don't care about that.

Two white women can work if it's two white women who are, um, the best two people for the positions.

Nobody wants Bernie because nobody wants a VP who can't compromise and goes further than the President's platform intends.

We're actually supporting the only Democratic candidate, just a clarification there.

I've personally opposed both in this thread (or rather, the previous iteration) and don't hold them to be a major deciding factor in my choice of Democrat anyway.

Exactly how I feel. Environmentalists are always like "omg Hillary supports fracking111!!11", but they don't understand why she supports it. Yes, fracking is bad for the environment, but it's MUCH MUCH better than coal. Coal makes up 33% of our electricity generation, and an alternative that's better to it should be used while we're switching.

Death penalty is also an issue I don't really care about.

It's bad I know, hence why I half support it. It's only a step in the "right" direction because it's better than coal for the environment (though I agree both aren't good in general).

Yes it's not an issue that I care about. She said she'd only support it in the most heinous crimes with the most damning evidence. I think she's not right for that BUT it's not an issue that I'm like "I can't vote for her" when there are more issues that matter to me more personally that I agree with from her

My biggest concern with Hillary is actually her relations with Israel. Obama's done a great job in not giving into their bullying and setting boundaries. There's always the possibility she'll make those relations a little better when I think Obama's made the right call. But praising Israel is what you need to become President and we know that can change once you actually get the part, as seen by Obama himself. It's the one thing I was happy Bernie got more critical of as the campaign went by.

I think there's a lot more behind-the-scenes politics involved when it comes to Israel. I trust her judgement as Secretary of State under President Obama to see what's the best course of action. Because when it comes to the Israel/Palestine war that's been going on for centuries, nobody ever really wins.
