Leona Lewis comes to mind. Golden voice, pretty bad albums after the decent debut. Nicole S and Demi Lovato also come to mind.

A lot of her albums are critically panned or mixed tho, so there is at least some precedent for people thinking she doesn't have good music. For the record, I totally disagree and think critics have been highly unfair.
