Vice Presidents never usually have a huge positive impact. Hillary already has minority voters on lock for this election (she's popular with minorities in general & Trump is a racist/xenophobic/etcphobic dumbass who repels anyone who isn't a white male so like...). People vastly overrate the impact of a VP. as long as Hillary doesn't pick someone like Palin, we're good.

This notion that they are different is just simply NOT true. She is not as to the left as Bernie is. Everything she stands for is basically what Hillary does. She wants to reinstate Bill's tax rates for gods sake.

Warren is infamous for going after Wall Street and the banks. It's going to be difficult for Warren to explain why she's running with a candidate who has taken donations from Wall Street.

Now, if she said something like 'we are joining forces for the greater good and to take down the evil that is Donald Trump', that would be a good start.

Like I said, it would be wonderful if she did pick Warren and they won. However, she cannot afford to take any risks. For her sake and basically the entire world (the fact that I'm not even being dramatic )

Warren is the only pick that would get progressives excited, lets be honest. She's the only one who already has a national platform and credibility with that base.

And a week ago, I would have said Trump had a chance of winning (because of the way he was able to make any negative story go away quickly). But after this week, he stands no chance. The media is finally laying into him and making him answer for the **** he's said. He's constantly on the defensive now and it's going to cost him.

And picking Elizabeth Warren isn't going to make Trump suddenly rise in the polls or make any sane person decide to vote against Hillary for picking another woman.

Well SUSA had her winning +18. The Marist poll had her winning by 10 among likely voters

All of the +2 polls were because of herding, something I've seen the last two polling cycles. It was one of the reasons why I felt so confident in a double digit win even if the polls didn't agree with me

What weights in a VP pick is what demographic and/or state he/she can lock in for the ticket.

In my opinon she NEEDS someone who can bring the progressives/independents for her, that's Warren or maybe Sherrod Brown. If she doesn't go down that route (would be a mistake imo), she'll go for someone safe from a swing/important state.

There are a lot of contradictions between Warren and Clinton which the GOP would pick apart. Warren isn't going to be able to vehemently defend her VERY progressive policies in case she contradicts Clinton's. It's going to be very difficult for her.

They don't have to share the exact same policies, but they can't be too different. Warren would need to alter her stance on some issues a little.

Which is why I said her "Hillary like voting record" is a contradiction to her "verbal" stances which are very "Sanders like"

Did it ever cross you that she doesn't think Hillary's donations influences her policies? Obama took more money, and installed Dodd-Frank.

Elizabeth herself said she supported Hillary running even before Bernie got in the race. The Democratic leaders, all 600+ that endorsed her, even Bernie b4 he got butt hurt Hillary brought up his gun record, had no issue with those speeches or her donations.

Sanders has many contradictions too, like voting with the gun lobby. Hillary is MORE progressive than Bernie on that issue.

Hillary has voted fairly consistently throughout her career and I have yet to see evidence that she voted for anything due to donations, etc.

Obama was restricted due to the donations he received, especially with regards to offshore fracking. It's a shame. I think if Obama had managed to run an entire campaign on minimal donations from the people, his Presidency would have been a lot more progressive. As is stands, he has been blocked by the Republicans at every turn and his donors have restricted him. It's a shame because I think he is a true progressive at heart.

The GOP will twist it and present a narrative that Hillary's donations do influence her. That's the problem.

Elizabeth, to me, seems to want tight regulations on Wall Street not tear up all the banks because of some deep hatred like Bernie does. I think she realizes it is important to have both tho.
