That generation was filled with ugly creatures with weird anatomies. And the number of duplicates ... They lost so many spots that could've been used for better pokémon :
The three monkeys, one family would've been enough ; Throh and Sawk who literally looks like human and are basically the same pokémon ; the Vanilite family (one evolution was enough) ; Klink (what was the purpose of the evolutions?) ; the three genies ; ....

I got my Alpha Sapphire just an hour ago and i'm so happy I'm now at the forest. I caught a Tailow that has Brave Bird as its first attack though Is that normal?
btw i choose Mudkip as my starters but i was thinking why i'm not using 2 starters? can someone trade me a Treecko? WOuld lile to have him on my team

no sis it means your game is bugged, restart it.
joking, that's pretty normal if you caught it using the dexnav or if came across a hidden pokemon(when their shadow shows in the overworld). Sometimes they'll have egg moves, their hidden ability or better stats/IV.
