The problem all lies in these promotions for rates/games. Most of us who post in them get harassed by the users after a time (and I got one for an Ariana Grande thing that I never posted a thing about including her album). What I was thinking is that there should be kind of rule that unless the user gives their permission in the thread (or is signed up), they shouldn't be bothered with it.

Do you mean by wall post? Or private message? I believe you can report someone for spamming your wall with requests about games and rates.
That said, wouldn't it be easier to just ask them to stop contacting you about that thread you have no interest in?

It's usually PMs from unrelated rates (like the Ariana Grande one I mentioned) that leads me to believe the OP does it as a general advertisement. Really odd when I never indicated an interest in AG as an example. Figured it wouldn't hurt to make a suggestion but I appreciate the perspective though.

As someone who's hosted a fair number of rates and tournaments during my ATRL tenure, I'm inclined to say that a bit of general promotion to get out the word about a new thread is okay. It's usually well-intentioned; we just want to drum up interest and create a successful event. But if it's multiple messages about something you have no interest in, I can see why that would be irritating. There needs to be a balance between allowing for that outreach and not harassing members.

It's probably me because before this past year, I literally stayed in 1D base and Kelly C's. So it's a little strange to me to be on the radar that much in terms of being tagged in a Rate/Game PM.
2. Yes, it largely depends on the moderator(s). But if there are posts that blatantly break rules, they will warn them.
3. Depends on the user and their history, if it's a known troll that's trying to avoid being banned due to accumulating 10 points for example, they're denied. But most people who request them get them granted.
