Is Hermione ever mentioned as being white in the books? No. She has been mentioned as being pale and tan before though, so you couldn't say for certain what race she was. Her dad's race was never mentioned, though her mother was described as being pale. Hermione could've been biracial for all we know.
On top of that, this is a FICTIONAL book series where race isn't even central to the story. So yes, Rowling, the CREATOR of the series is right.
I didn't know predominantly suddenly meant all now. They casted a black London actress for this play and was casted for her talent and not her skin color. WE are in 2016, not 2002, where skin color played a factor in roles. If you were used to Hermione being white, fine, but in this play she is black. 
Get the **** over yourselves. The author said it's fine and this is canon. Deal.
