I very much doubt it as all the tickets are sold out for the first year, with the second year going on sale in August. There would be no need for them to release a film of it. Plus I like how special it is to have the show specific to one theatre, in one place in the world. A film would kinda devalue that.

They would have never in a million years made Hermoine anything other than white in the movies. only white people are allowed to have diverse characterization. People of color are nothing more than caricatures in movies and leaving a character racially ambiguous is just another code for white. The only way people will accept a character as none white is if you specifically state their race, ancestors, cultural heritage, social security number, and video evidence of them being born and even then there is a 50% chance they'll still end up white.

Sis making Hermione white for the movies was a commercial move. I agree POC are widely mis-representated but claiming they're only caricatures in movies is pushing it a bit don't you think ? Then again in France our most popular actor is black, so I may don't see it your way.

Who cares even if she is indeed white in the books? It doesn't mean therefore it is forbidden she be any other race in a movie... It's not like the race of her or any of the characters (that I'm aware of) play any significant role in the storyline. If that case it's a completely different story

Everyone I knew who were a fan did a double take on that as well. It was just hard to broadcast your feelings since Facebook and twitter only hit mainstream in 2008 or 2009, I think. Social media was just not that powerful back then in 2007.

Which, again, is what she said. She said that Noma was the best person for the role, which is why she got it. It's only when so-called "fans" brought up ugly claims of her changing canon that she decided to address it.
