That's exactly right. I feel like most Sanders fans think a contested convention occurs when no one hits the 2383 in *pledged* delegates which obviously isn't the case. 3 super delegate ballots are conducted if no-one has a majority and if they still don't have a majority after 3 ballots thats when the contested convention is called and ALL delegates are released. It is quite literally impossible to have a contested convention when there are only 2 candidates in the race and as you said, it'll be over after there first ballot.
Sanders intentionally uses that misinformation though, he knows his supporters have no idea what they're doing (which isn't an attack, they're just new to the system) and he knows they'll cause trouble when they perceive something to be corrupt. The way he's behaving is quite irresponsible.
