I look at worldwide success. Beyonce is HUGE in the United States, but here in Europe she's not that big at all.
Taylor Swift = 1989 era, successful tour, wins every award

Lots of promo
Anti has sold 450k in the US since its release 4 months ago.
2 Top 10 singles so far.
1 Number one (9 week at number one).
One performance in the US 4 months after its release.
1.4 million copies was given away free.
Lady Gaga underperformed 3 albums into her career, Rihanna is 8 albums into her career and not underperformed once to her extent. So there is no argument to who is the main pop girl between them.
Rihanna is before Katy Perry also.

It has nothing to do with Beyoncé but you're absolutely dreaming if you think Beyoncé isn't huge in Europe. I'm from the UK, don't try and fool me with those lies.

After reading this thread it's kinda obvious that a lot of ppl have based their opinions on irrational passion of their own faves but that doesn't matter because all you have proven w/your comments is that the main 5 can change at any moment with a career bump.
Maybe a better question is who out of the main 5 will stay in the main 5 for an extended period of time. Everyone ur all talking about has had brief moments in the sun but in sure you all want more for the ppl ur stanning.

Not really 'breif moments' Beyonce has been huge as a solo artist since her debut 13 years ago, Rihanna has stayed a force for 11 years, Katy too for 8. Nothing comparable to the popgirls of the 80s and 90s though, who had multiple decades on top.

Beyoncé is mainly big in the United States. I live in Germany and here she is not big at all.

Britney is the Queen of Pop, for Madonna stans maybe just the Princess of Pop, because they think Madge is still relevant.
Ariana and Selena are extremely huge at the moment. Demi is not as big as them but still big.

I hear nothing about Beyoncé, sorry. Or Gaga. After that Leonardo/Gaga thing nothing happened. And that was the only thing since like 2011.....

I only agree with these but Rihanna and Beyonce are GLOBAL, Britney isnt big anymore but at her peak she was global but ariana was only big during her last era
EDIT: yall need to stop acting like selena is massive this era shes doing well in the US but shes flopping in Europe and yes Gaga hasnt been big since 2011

So because you live in arguably one of Beyoncé's weakest markets, that means she's not big in the whole of Europe? What kind of logic is that? She's been #1 in Belgium for the last 5 weeks, which nobody has done in a long time, her album reached #1 all over Europe, or if not the top spot, Top 5. Like your very own country where she debuted at #3.
Demi's album peaked at #23 in Germany and you have the audacity to say she's bigger than Beyoncé? You are the worst troll on the whole of ATRL and I am cringing so hard right now. Hair videos? Get a grip.

This is what people call an example. 
Everybody talks about Selena right now. Even in the third world they know Selena is on tour, because you see at least 5000 tour pics and videos of her everyday, the songs are everywhere.
There are millions of headlines every day about Selena, about her songs, her tour, her fashion, her dates, her friendships, her clothing line, her photoshoots, her tv performances, her make up, her unicef work..... and literally everything.
