I never used this "quirky" chat lingo and emotes, but I remember abusing ^^ when I used to play an MMORPG back in the days, I would also use xD, nowadays I lowkey cringe at this kind of thing unless it's used ironically

i went through my super quirky phase when i was 14 and omg i remember i used to think it was funny to act crazy and talk about dark and gory things and i can't even read posts i made like that without wanting to die

also on a forum i went on during those days the head admin that created the site always abused ^^ and tried to start really weird controversial conversations all the time...eventually the other admins actually banned him and he called one of the admin's old nanny for some reason. i think he had some screws loose
