I think the fact that it does sound dated is important because the themes of the album (AIDS, pushing boundaries of sex etc) reflected on what was happening at the time.

I would say the first 8 tracks are all phenomenal plus Ice Cream Colours and In The Dark are my favorites. After Caramel the production becomes a bit too similar without any change ups, but its still great as a whole.

I don't find music boring because it's slow those albums sound boring to me because of the uninventive and generic sound (perhaps it only sounds generic in retrospect).When I think of boring 80s pop these albums are perfect examples in my eyes.
