Decent opening not a flop by any means.
This had way to much competition. Civil War and Angry birds are both doing $15 million plus and even tho Alice flopped ~$50 mill is a good chunk of audience that go taken away.

I honestly don't care about the critics because I loved it, but I do want it to be successful as possible because I don't want X4 to be affected with a slashed budget and less time being put into it.

I don't care about the critics either but it bugs me how MCU films are like the standard for critics.

X-Men is the best selling comic book of all times. It is responsible for saving marvel through the 90s. The animated series paved way for other cartoon series like Spiderman etc. Finally the first film paved way for current superhero film. Xmen deseves more respect tbh.

I've seen the film twice and it does not deserve the negative reviews it's getting. It's worrisome because they know they have some power to kind of destroy a films potential.

I'm so pumped for the 90s sequal.

Just forget about the old movies because this X-Men is a new timeline. Wolverine 3 will be set in the old timeline. The only thing you need to concern yourself is when Wolverine 3 comes out. Days of Future Past wiped X-3 out of canon, so if old Jean pops up in that movie, that is the reason why.

After what happens in DOFP, Mystique not killing Trask & the president, stops magneto, the 1st timeline has been wiped out from most of everything post 70's, Half of Wolverine origins, X1, X2, X3, Wolverine & ultimately DOFP scary ass sentinels.

Hence, the birth and continuation of the the 2nd X-men timeline which is further utilized with the 'prequel' First Class' & to further enhance the DOFP story of time travelling (and also, obviously the genius way to join 2 ensemble cast)

First Class > DOFP (Past Scenes) > Apocalypse >>>>> Deadpool >>>>>> somewhere down the line the 'GOOD' future Wolverine woke up to in DOFP


So as to where Wolverine 3 will appear, pretty sure the 1st xmen timeline is no longer used.
but yes, time will find its way to correct itself, meaning anything can happen from the new timeline onwards, essence of X1 or X2 can happen , I mean ANYTHING (what we've seen in the post credit scene, its a good Retcon, and also it gives us a better chance to see the real Xmen we've always wanted to see on screen (we got a glimpse in Apocalypse), but from anything onwards, let's just not factor in the old timeline, shall we? hope this explains.

ugh that opening scene I can't wait to see it on DVD so i can watch it over and over

I really wish we got to see more of those four horse men, like maybe a few scenes of them slaying the lessors over the years before the finale protection scene
