Because it just gets him more attention, drags this whole thing on even longer, and will raise his poll numbers against Trump, giving him more leverage to say stupid crap about how he's more electable.
This is Bernie's last ploy for a miracle victory in the primary - his last appeal.
It won't work, but it's what he's trying. That's what's annoying.
But maybe - just maybe - he knows it won't make him win and he's honestly doing it to try and draw blood with Trump.
Maybe good will come of this after all - if Hillary, Bernie, and Elizabeth can all unite against Trump then the Democrats will pull together so well. Maybe this is a sign he's committed to the Democratic party and is willing to do anything to stop Trump?
