Dems aren't the people voting them into office. Republicans voted Trump and them. They have no choice or will get ostracized from the party.
If you're in a blue district or purple district and you have Trump atop the ticket you will lose come November, especially if in a blue district where majority of democrats live. They will come out of the woodworks to vote AGAINST Trump and they mostly vote straight down ticket
I'm expecting major losses in democratic strongholds and big losses in purple strongholds.
I think another great option for you would be looking into the Iowa Democratic Party as well. HFA has started to shift towards a coordinated campaign with state democratic parties, and what you want to get out of it sounds more in line with that. So I would also submit a resume to them tbh. People will overlook almost anything as long as you are on "their" side. It's unfortunately just the way it is.
If Ryan has any plans of running for president in the future, he would not endorse Trump and would do all he could to rebuild the GOP. He might actually win a presidency somewhere down the line.
