He was elected for one term. That should be enough right there. But let's go further:
1) "READ MY LIPS: NO NEW TAXES" One of the most infamous lines from a presidential candidate. He did the exact opposite when elected.
2) VP for the last 8 years of that "perfect" president Reagan who did a lot of harm himself. He did little to distance himself.
3) He focused so much on foreign policy that the domestic policies were pushed to the side.
4) He failed to knock down the fresh face, promising politician Bill Clinton. Something Obama ('12) and Reagan ('80) were both able to do.
