It'd need nearly 500M streams go 5x Platinum with streaming and I don't think it has over 500M in US.
Track equivalent albums hun.
Diamonds, Stay, and Pour It Up sold around 7M in US combined. 7M tracks / 10 = 700,000 TEA.
It would be 2x Platinum even with no streams.
This is why I don't follow charts
An album selling should be the only thing that counts towards its total sales
These new rules just save the failed popstars such as Rihanna who can't remain successful in 2016 compared to her other peers like Beyonce Adele and drake
Albums don't sell at the same rate anymore, so wanting that to be the only thing that is tracked is an expired, grandpa'd way of thinking now. We get it, you need ways to "shade Frih!", but the transparency and desperation is a bit overbaked at this point.
if i were petty enough...i can stream all your faves catalogs on a site that has the same database as Spotify + plus albums that arent on Spotify. so they cant get any of the streaming points. but i am vain that i want all my listening to be scrobbled on Last FM.
