Nicole by very very far. Her diversity, her range, her tone, her power >>>>>>>>>>>>>
Leona is a solid singer and I'm rooting for her though.
I don't think Nicole wins Leona over any of these. Maybe on the Power I can agree with you.
If were talking about the present then yeah sure Nicole might just be better but Leona's vocals on her peak were uncomparable.
What the hell is peak vocals y'all are talking about? A great vocalist is able to maintain her vocals and actually IMPROVE them with time.
Nicole has worked on her voice for so many years. She always had a great voice, but with hard work and great technique, she has matured into a PHENOMENAL vocalist who can never sound bad these days.
Leona is an amazing singer, but Nicole is the better vocalist. She is more diverse, she can literally sing ANYTHING sounding flawless, she has better control and technique, her belting is so effortless and beautiful.
Nicole is probably the best vocalist in Music right now. And the fact that she's older than her peers, and have been in the industry for longer as well, and she still maintained and IMPROVED her vocals speak volumes.
This performance is one of the best vocal performances in a VERY LONG time. And she's singing in Spanish. Nicole has never performed or talked in Spanish prior to this performance so it makes it even more amazing.
and here's a compilation of some of Nicole's best vocal performances throughout the years. You can tell how much she's improved as a vocalist in this video.
In terms of tone and ability to emote, Leona wins hands down. Nicole has more versatility, a slightly better technique and more power and volume.
Leona sounds beautiful but weak at times (her voice gets drowned out, like in the last chorus of Run). Nicole, on the other hand, has a lot more volume and power, but her voice sounds really ugly sometimes (Club Banger Nation).
I believe both have their pros and cons; but if I had pick one, it would be Leona just because her tone is so beautiful. There is something off-putting about Nicole's voice.
But Leona's voice is more beautiful and elegant in my humble opinion.
I mean if I have to choose between the two to listen for the rest of my life, it would be Leona. Nicole's tone is a bit too harsh and rough.
Anywho, both can't compare to Delta Goodrem who also plays Cats in Australia

Oh just stop. We know what we were talking about. I love Nicole. I have listened to all of her and PCDs albums. I love her but her voice (especially when singing pop) sometimes sounds a bit too manly and harsh to the ear. It doesn't matter that much tho I just prefer Leona's tone.

I agree that Nicole's voice is not suited for Pop. That doesn't mean she doesn't have a nice tone. For example, the video I posted above. She sounds EXCELLENT with a mesmerizing tone. Those kind of songs suite her the best and this is why I'm excited for her new album because she's dropping the 'Pop' sound and she's recording music that sounds timeless and classic, instead of what's hot or trendy.
