Hoping Ariana's 190kish will be enough, this week his SPS numbers were huge Views they went to all services, hoping the decline next week will be enough

Also: At least Meghan's numbers weren't an absolute disaster.

You might want to get those eyes checked as I've been slating this ludicrous rule this entire year. It's STUPID. If an album has SOLD more, then it should be higher on the charts. A single's streaming shouldn't count towards the album.

yeah it really feels weird. streamed songs should be a part of the Hot100, not BB200. it just feels wrong...

Definitely. I completely understand streaming in context of singles, that makes sense, but streaming the SINGLE should not be giving the album huge streams. For example, due to his single streams in the UK he was #1 on the charts, despite Lemonade selling DOUBLE what he sold.

Agreed since the beginning.

At least I can say that Drake and Beyonce slay in album sales and they aren't bragging about SPS certs which incorporate double counting or anything. They take their great sales and great streams and keep it moving.

I cringe when I see artists brag about double counting to fool the public and overcompensate for actual sales.

Billboard was a damn mess for allowing the double counting to begin with

If Katy, Bruno, Timberlake, Beyonce, Adele, Taylor and random flavors of the year can get a million album sales then it shouldn't be an emergency where double counting is the only way.

Only 21% of his streams last week were from One Dance and he had nearly 110m streams from album tracks only on Apple Music, which was nearly four times as many as the #2 album (ANTI) including ANTI's singles. He's absolutely demolishing everyone on album streams, and this deserves to be reflected in the charts.

My goodness. The one that got away would have been the 6th #1 had legend katy had the benefit of streaming.

In a way, i'm glad she didn't break that record.

21% from 1 song is not huge when an album has 20 songs on it?

I called bs from the beginning on double counting.

The thing is I wasn't too familiar with spotify and stuff so when someone told me an album got streamed 400M times I really thought the ENTIRE album was streamed that many times.

When I realized they were talking about collective singles and album tracks then I really knew it was some bs.

Album sales are the pits but there's nothing wrong with single sales (which contribute to records sold) getting higher certs due to streams as well as album tracks getting certs due to popularity.

I just never saw the truth in equating something free or at best done at discounted rate as legitimately counting as a full album.

The average amount of tracks on an album isn't even 10 so dividing by 10 doesn't even account for the average which probably is 13 or 14 tracks an album.

Well.....there's another chart for pure album sales (Top Album Sales chart), Billboard 200 reflects album popularity/consumption. Streaming has surpassed sales in the US, it should count.

So once you remove One Dance, the album had 109.4m streams

well, it's not just you complaining now about streaming... I was talking about those ones that just realised NOW about how unfair that is...

I agree with you, of course. For me, streaming shouldnt count at all... If they want to, then at least dont count the highest single/song from the album...
