Omg Michelle is such a queen!!! So happy for her!!! She looked like a GODDESS at the reunion. I think Aubry definitely deserved it more, but i think Michelle won because people like how strong she was and how she was always counted out but she really did try her hardest and was always talking with people to see wtf she was gonna do. Definitely not a Natalie White

the fact that Aubry lost it shows how pressed some jury members are just voting for friendships or early game promises because Aubry totally SLAYED !!! everybody... what a mess...

BOOOOOOOOOOO bitter ass f*cking jury. What a lackluster win. I like Michelle but she did NOT deserve it more than Aubry.

Ugh, I mean I really like Michele, but I thought Aubry was going to be a jury member. Freaking Scott and Jason had too much sway and were bitter as hell. Disgusting.
Aubry is still the real queen of this season. And I think people and the cast members KNOW THAT now. Even Julia said on her exit interview that she had no idea of the amazing game Aubry was playing, and that was only because she was too busy focusing on her precious friend Michele.

I don't completely agree. Giving that decision to Michele, like she said, was going to be the last thing the jury remembered. She made the right choice, so of course the jury now thinks OH MY GOD she's not the puppet we thought she was. That was just too much power and sways the jury too much, IMO.
I'm also very disappointed with Cyd. Like, what the hell?
Good thing the people know who was the better player. And also, let's not forget that the producers edit around the winner and losers, so that's why Michele was always in SUCH a positive light during her confessionals to make you believe she deserved it. Had she lost, she would've been Purple Michele. Simple as that.

You don't get to win simply because you've orchestrated the most "big moves". If that was the case, then ****ing Russell Hantz would be a winner. You actually have to make the people you're voting out LIKE you. In terms of just Aubry vs. Michele, clearly Aubry had the better strategic game to be able to navigate with all the control she had. But Michele outplayed her on both the social and physical game. Michele won three individual challenges, exactly when she needed to. Aubry only won one. Plus jurors exiting the game felt that they didn't have that good of a relationship with Aubry. Nobody seemed to feel that about Michele, which speaks to her social skills. Y'all just don't get it!

nnn; please. The bond between Cyd and Aubry was clearly more superior to Cyd and Michele's. So, no... Bitterness does exist. And comparing Aubry to Russell? Ch... With your logic then you're basically saying Survivor isn't a flawed game and that we should accept EVERY damn winner as the BEST player that season. That is BS. Aubry's social and strategic game was on point. Michele only had the former and a bitter jury, and two jackasses in Scott and Jason.

One final thought: watching Cyd's ponderosa video I noticed Scott/Jason/Julia didn't even acknowledge her, so yeah, they couldn't be bitter towards her anymore, now let's be bitter with Aubry. One thing you Stevie don't account for is luck. Michele was lucky Jason, Scott and Julia were so unreasonably bitter that they couldn't see past it, she was also lucky Aubry's closest allies were med'vaced after the merge. We've seen from time to time that A LOT of players are actually mature enough to acknowledge who played the most well-rounded game. Sorry, but Survivor is like life. Some people are the top not because they deserve it, but because they were lucky. And that's THAT. Good night.

If you watch Cydney's Ponderosa video, Scot, Jason, and Julia (BAE, DON'T BE LIKE THAT!!!!!!!!!!!) give Cydney the cold shoulder and hate her (and presumably Aubry). It doesn't explain Cyd's vote, but there's some insight as to how the vote went the way it did.
I gotta say though that I bet if Scot weren't there in the game, Jason would've voted for Aubry to win.

Exactly, perfect assessment
Many people online, including former Survivor players, agree with us too

I like Michele, and I'm glad her quiet style of play got some respect, but Aubry was robbed. That jury was bitter and it's disappointing someone who truly outwitted all of them was not justly rewarded.
Where was my final two, though? I've been waiting years for them to bring it back and I was certain we finally had a chance! Instead we got this "Big Brother" twist. Not here for it.

The last one was Cagayan, which was 2 years ago, so it hasn't been that long. I feel like Michele's win would've been more satisfying if she had solely beat Tai in a final 2

Girl, Michele/Aubry is basically the same debate as Sandra/Parvati and Natalie/Russell. You have one player with the better social game who defeats the more dominant strategic player because Survivor is (mostly) a social game. The basis of the logic here is nothing new, other than there being a recent cringeworthy resurgence of the "big move" strategy stans ever since Tony won and Probst has been campaigning for the players to play a harder, more cutthroat "strategic" game.
|
These are not really comparable. Sandra vs. Parvati is a legitimate debate to have, because both played brilliantly in very different ways. Natalie vs. Russell is on the complete opposite end of the spectrum, because while she was a lovely person, the most memorable thing Natalie did was kill a mouse. She was handed a million dollars because Russell is human garbage and that's it. Michele vs. Aubry falls somewhere in between. Yes, Michele had a resume, but it was still thin compared to Aubry's. A bitter jury concocted a story about a "weak finish" to justify not voting for her, and they happened to have a viable alternative.

Wow, completely forgot about that! I guess that's what happens when it becomes a once-in-eight-years occurrence.
That is true. If she had won the final challenge and voted out Aubry, it would have felt like she beat her under a more legitimate set of circumstances. Tai's final tribal performance was pitiful, but Michele's was marginal and certainly not the best of the bunch.

Thrilled Michele won! Great ending to a solid season!
If anyone watches BB, that was a reverse Liz/Kelsey experience. If either of those ladies had given a solid final speech (like Michele) they could have won too.
I agree that Aubry played the best game, but I don't care. Michele also played a good game and she was more likable. And let's face it, when you're actually out there, in the thick of everything, you're going to vote for the person you connect with the most. Spending 30+ days, all day every day, really forces you to get to know people. Obviously people like Cydney, Nick, Jason, and Julia connected strongly with Michele. It's not about them being bitter against Aubry, it's about them wanting to give the money to someone they both like and respect (as oppose to Aubry, who they respect, but don't necessarily like.) I agree Scot was bitter though.
Can't wait for next season!

Ugh at this dire theme for next season. I hope it's better than that cliche-ridden promo would suggest.
Poor Cydney. She played one of the best games this season and got completely ignored at the reunion. (Is that why she looked so upset?) I also really would have liked a reckoning over how badly Ashley was treated. What a waste!

Yeah the reunion was ****, but it's always **** cuz Jeff sucks. Of course they ignored Cydney and the entire bullying storyline with Scot, Jason and Alecia.
