Digital Only Release Could Debut at #1 on Sales From iTunes, Amazon.com

Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief is breaking all sorts of records.
Friday night’s telethon raised more than $57 million as of Saturday afternoon, a new mark for donations made by the general public through a disaster relief telethon. The results include all donations made by phone, online and mobile, but does not include those made by coprporations and large private donors.
It also doesn’t include iTunes sales figures for the Hope for Haiti Now album, which logged the biggest one-day album pre-order in the Apple site’s history.
Currently, the release is the #1 iTunes album in 18 countries. The studio version of “Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour),” the original track performed by Jay-Z, Bono, the Edge and Rihanna, is currently the #1 iTunes song in 12 countries.
Based on these figures, Hope for Haiti Now will go head-to-head with Susan Boyle for #1 on next week’s sales chart, probably in the 80-85k range. It would be the first-ever album to go #1 based solely on digital sales, mostly from iTunes, but also from amazon.com.

I agree, I don't care if The Fame gets to number one or not. It has been one of the best selling Albums in recent years, I'm happy with that  In general albums are spoken about in terms of how much they have sold, whilst with singles the chart postions are more important.

its gonna be 1st for sure, its a really good album, i know people will disagree with me bc haters are always after wayne but the album is actually nice, its a change from the usual rap. he tried something new and its worth taking a look at !!

I wasn't sure they were still following through with it and moved on to Tha Carter IV because of all the pushbacks.
I didn't think it was that good tbh nor do I see it getting the number one spot though. The whole thing just started off bad.

according to people from his label, the rebirth that is coming out feb 2 is suppose to have different tracks then the rebirth that leaked in december. the only songs he was gonna keep was "drop the world", "on fire" and "prom queen" but on amazon the tracklist is exactly the same as the leaked version so im not sure anymore :S

im a huge lil wayne fan and i do admit his "Carter" trilogies are insane and are much better than his rebirth but i also have to keep an open mind and see what hes trying to do. i respect the fact that he has the guts to try something out of his domain. im looking forward to Carter IV its gonna be sick and as for rebirth it will go number 1 bc of his huge fan base.
btw for info only: lil wayne has already recorded 20 tracks for Carter IV

yeahh its been awhile !!! well one thing missing from Rebirths singles is longetivity bc when we see its peak position in billboard charts, he actually has 2 songs that are top 20 hits !! Prom queen (15th) and Drop the world feat. eminem (18th)
so it isnt all bad !!
