The Starks will reclaim Winterfell by the end of this season. Between the Wildlings and the Vale, Ramsay's getting crushed. Maybe it'll be the big finale.

And they'll find out RLJ at some point soon when their hopes are at their lowest, and when they take Winterfell they'll walk down into the crypt and Jon will stare at Lyanna's statue and say "mum." End season.

Does being a king/kinslayer relinquish your claim? I recall Tywin wanting Jamie to leave the king's guard for Castely Rock and be his heir when he was trying to marry Cersei to Loras

The alternate option is ending with a lingering shot on the dead body of a major character. But they did that last season. And maybe in some other previous season. I forget how they all ended.

So true, but they have to keep it for how they are perceived, they can't lose Castely Rock when that is the "source" of all their wealth and power not to mention their army and extended family are all there as well
