A great part of "the people" doesn't vote for the best song, most of the times, but for the country they like the most. This was the case for Russia and Poland ending up so high despite not having the strongest song, although Russian song was at least a Top 10 contender compared to the Polish mess.

Juries did a much better job with their ranking except for a couple of cases who didn't ruin anything in the grand scheme of things.

That's why there cannot be only one component for the results. A mix of people who "technically" understand music and general public is needed to prevent a bias and give a better outlook in the end.

Who are they then? I need to see the people that "understand" music the best. You either like the song or not, tastes differ, people are not idiots they know what they like and what they don't themselves.

Im honestly not pressed that Jamala won, that song is really Genius..like the beat,the vocals,the theme,the emotion/pain,the situation in her country.................and the way it stands out.......it was lowkey winner material since the beginning
