I've gotten a few entries, and I know I specified that being too long would be an issue, but that doesn't mean that being too SHORT wouldn't also be an issue. I just thought that since this is a lyric writing competition, the problem would be that you've written too much, not too little. I shouldn't be able to read your piece in less than 25 seconds out loud at a normal pace. 1 minute should really be a baseline for these. You just can't make a lasting impression out of 50+ entries from an 8-line (or less) piece.
