I'm like on the fence on whether I want Singer back or not. I feel we need someone who can deliver an ensemble story since Singer is failing on that front, which is one of two complaints I have about Singer; the other being that his action sequences are more miss than hit.
I thought Apocalypse was always meant to be Singer's last movie? and I was perfectly okay with that because I expected this film to be a great closure of the trilogy. Now he might not come back if the studio wants a fresh vision but let's hope we don't end up with another Brett Ratner

If this is Singer's last film, then I can honestly see Kinberg and Fiege doing something to get the universes together. I mean why are we honestly going to the 90s next? What is the holdup to go to the present?

They already did "the present" in the first trilogy and everybody died.
If they want to do the present again they're gonna have to recast because Ian McKellen isn't going to be around much longer.
