I suppose there's a difference, but most artists contribute at least something to a song whether it's a few lyrics, vocal arrangements, or production credits. I haven't listened to the SOM original but everyone says it's exactly the same, which is very un-creative

No most don't but say they do. At least like this, you know Rihanna chose it because she thought it fits her album. That's creative input, whether you like it or not. And there's a certain transparency to it that is endearing.

I don't have a problem with covers for example Lay Up Under Me is a cover from "4". If you compare her version to the original it's very different. A cover is fine but I'm sure rih could've added something to it to make it more her, but judging from what we know about her work ethic and recording process it comes across as lazy

I am part Arab, genius. I've never been searched like that but I've heard stories of people who were. Nevertheless, speaking as someone who lives here it really isn't as bad as you think it is. I also have an Arab first name and the only time I've experienced racism was from a black landlord in San Francisco but I still clocked him instantly and left him fuming. Just make sure you move to a big, mixed city and you won't experience any racism
