If the woman isn't ready to be a mother, then she probably isn't in a stable relationship anyway and will maybe be forced to live and provide as a single parent. As MANY mothers do.

this shows the extreme disrespect and disregard society has for women. not caring about what she wants, her feelings. what going through this process would do to her mentally and physically. only caring about yourself, about a potential child that isn't even related to you, all because you feel like some kind of moral gatekeeper who was sent to the earth to police everyone else's decisions

I do think there should be a conversation. If a women doesn't want to go through a pregnancy alone why should she go through a pro choice decision alone. I'm for open communication before a decision is made...if it is in fact made.

I edited my post, and added new words after you quoted me. I really don't think there are many mothers that don't love their childs, every mother I've known in my life loves her kids (I must admit that's not the case with males). But, as I already wrote, if the male or the female decide that they really can't love/raise the child properly, then they should give the baby in adoption, even if it's not the happiest scenario.

Maybe the baby won't have the best chidlhood ever, but what if that baby becomes the next Whitney Houston, or the next J.K Rowling, or the next Albert Einstein? We don't know what will become of that baby, but I firmly believe everyone deserves a chance to live.

The problem with these arguments is that the father should have zero say in abortions. The woman shouldn't be forced into a pregnancy she doesn't want. And from experience, I don't find a lot of males to be very willing to raise a child on their own; society typically expects women to bear the brunt of that. It's funny that males are clamoring over control of a woman's body when they don't offer solutions that don't land the child in a group home, foster care or in a poor living situation with relatives. It's like once the child is born, ya'll don't care. Just to soothe that guilty conscience.

But I have a question though, going off-tangent a bit. Why is it that if a pregnant woman is killed in certain states/countries it's counted as a double homicide? I thought they don't classify the foetus as a life until it's actually born? That's always confused me

and we dont need more orphans or kids that cant be taken care of or terminally ill or whatever. if you abort, they fetus hasn't even become what can be called a human being yet.

So his sperm don't matter? In places like China it's law if he wants to keep it ONLY if her life won't be in jeopardy within those 9 months.. That seems fair to me! Also in the Uk it's the same law but it has to be court order.. The US is so behind

I am purely pro-choice - a woman deserves the right to have autonomy over her body.

I think better laws need to be devised with regards to the father's right to the child. Currently, it stands that a father is held legally responsible for a child he did not want to create (though irresponsibly, he did so) - or a father wants a child that is under no obligation to be born. Meanwhile, the mother has full rights in deciding whether or not the child is born. I'm not saying the father should be able to dictate whether a woman has a child, but I do think we need to devise laws with more equal responsibility.

But pro-choice is the best solution we have right now.

You cant force a woman to remain pregnant against her will. Its not a fathers body so its not his choice. Because lets be honest here a woman has to be pregnant for 9 months, creating the life, and actually give birth to that life. So her opinion matters ions more than your opinion
