I think he was referring to the whole State's rights stuff and how each state have different laws and traditions for a bunch of things, the primary process being no different.

And as I've continued to say, if anyone tries to tout a GE poll right now then take it with a grain of salt. Hillary is still in her primary, VP choices haven't been made, negative ads haven't started yet, debates haven't started yet, conventions haven't happened yet, etc. Realistically the polls won't have any validity until next month (earliest).

I still don't take those seriously, but Kasich in a GE poll is entirely incredible because people forget he exists most of the time and has not properly been given the treatment of a serious candidate to be able to even have an idea of how he would perform in the GE.

Well, it is entirely possible Kasich had a chance against Sanders or Clinton. It doesn't matter though, because ultimately they WERE inaccurate. Kasich hasn't been a viable candidate for the Presidency in months.There is no accuracy to that poll. It is like asking What fruit you would rather eat? Strawberries or Chicken? Just because Chicken is an option does not mean it is an accurate or valid option.

Gary Johnson might get a lot of non-Trump Republicans though. Who knows. This is way to early to estimate 3rd party votes.

Kasich probably does have the best chance to beat either Hillary or Bernie, but I do think the early polls for him are a little enflated. 1) not that many people outside of Ohio and the Republican base know him or have a strong opinion of him. People's views on him will be easier to change than Clinton's or Trump's public perception. 2) It's hard for me to imagine him winning if he can't excite the base. If barely any Republicans want him outside of Ohio, he will likely face a voter turnout problem, esp from disaffected Trump supporters.

I'm not sure how they are conducted but they can be confusing and they are usually correct with primary state polling

True but the presidency is a national thing. It doesn't make sense how Independents can vote in some states but not others. They need to make the rules the same everywhere.
