In an article published this week in The New York Times, Serge Kovaleski and Joe Coscarelli write: “Ms. Spears cannot make key decisions, personal or financial, without the approval of her conservators: her father, Jamie Spears, and a lawyer, Andrew M. Wallet. Her most mundane purchases, from a drink at Starbucks to a song on iTunes, are tracked in court documents as part of the plan to safeguard the great fortune she has earned but does not ultimately control.”
EDIT: You know what. You'll probably just respond with "she is dead" and a decade old pic anyway so, just read the articles yourself if you really care
This is why I can never be truly excited about a new Britney era. No matter how much interest they manage to drum up, there will always be an unusually high degree of control and restraint that's out of her hands.
How is that even news to you people. Her finances are being managed. Her conservator which is her father doesn't even live in the same state as her but he gets reports on what she spends her money on. You all mean to tell me you dragged her conservatorship for years but had no idea how it worked?

We've KNOWN, but you guys keep coming in here every time we mention it saying "This is embarrassing! The conservatorship is only so she doesn't have to pay taxes! Britney is FREE!" or some kind of nonsense, and you're all WRONG.
Your fave hasn't had her rights in more than two presidential terms.
