I'm not sure how 250k is the new benchmark but maybe it's because your statements are not researched and substantiated.
As if anyone just makes 100k a year with less than a decade of experience.
Many people won't make 100k a year after 20 years in their career.
This reminds me of Nicole siding with Trump and she made some points like this but i thought she was joking.

You're right. I completely failed to take in factors such as cost of living, etc... i apologize.
But IT is completely different. Trust me, the industry is booming and IT people are making that much money with less than 5 years of experience. I just had an interview the other day for an entry level IT position paying $65,000 plus annual raise of 6-20%. Considering you'll be making 20% more every year, it'll only take three years to break the $100,000 mark.
And on a Canadian side of things... 892,679 public sector officials make $100,000 and more this year. That's great considering Canada has only 30,000,000 people, and that's only the public sector.
Only thing to consider is that Canadian dollar is 0.75 of the US dollar, so we can adjust accordingly.
Here is the "sushine" list to disclose everyone in the public sector making $100,000 and above. All of my professors are there.

They're actually considering making $140,000 the actual benchmark for the Sunshine list, because so many Canadians are now making $100,000 and above.
