I swear Phoenix comes out in the end. If it doesn't happen I am going to be so disappointing... Even though they never said anything about it and it's all in my head on how the Phoenix destroys Apoco and then takes off leaving leaving the X-Men in the dust.

I hope it like helps her beat Apocalypse and then just leaves her body and flies off to destroy worlds and ****. And then the they can use that to introduce the Shi'ar Empire.
They need to not rush the Phoenix Saga. When they do do it I want the setting to be modern day, because good luck tryna fight Dark Phoenix in the 90s when so many of the X-Men haven't honed their abilities yet.
This video goes into detail of the Phoenix Saga.
Having Jean become the Phoenix at the end of Apocalypse would make it a rushed ass mess. I would not be here for it. The producers need to take their time setting up this arc.

In 10 years they could learn a lot, I think they could be prepared to face the Phoenix and the Shi'ar Empire. On the other hand, if the next movie is indeed in the 90s and is set to be released in 2018, it'd be a mess look-wise. Magneto, Beast and Charles to some extent can pass as old but Tye, Sophie, Evan and the others can't. I'd be better if the next movie is set 3 or 5 years after the events of Apocalypse.
In regards of the next set of movies, I want a duology of the Phoenix Saga. First, the Shi'ar Empire thing with hints of the Dark Phoenix at the end, and the other film centered in the Dark Phoenix Saga. It'd be very well-done is Bryan directs the next movies. He know about the X-Men and cares about the universe, unlike who-he-shall-not-be-named.
They can't waste this huuge opportunity to turn this iconic saga in the comic books into a movie now that the X-Men films are being done amazingly.

The next X Men will be scheduled for 2020 at best.
DOFP/Apocalypse were prepared/written at the same time that's why they got released so close to each other. Bryan Singer is burned out, he wants a break and Simon Kinberg is busy.
BTW I don't want a next X Men if it's not Singer or Vaughn. Fox betta not **** this up.
Singer can be involved and produce, but Vaughn (or others) could do a great follow up to Apoc I have no doubt. Fox aren't going to just let the franchise go stagnant which there's cash to be made, especially if this one performs amazingly. A four year wait seems unlikely, especially when Avatar is probably costing over a billion in production alone, they'll want to have solid returns in the meantime.
