Black artists have been making the best & most critically acclaimed music this decade, but have lost to their white peers.

I think after Taylor's win & the #OscarsSoWhite controversy - people are starting to understand the frustration. With "Lemonade," the Grammy's have a chance to redeem themselves. Will they? We will see next year.

MBDTF was eligible for a nomination during Adele's year though (and obvi deserved to win over that bore)

You're right, hence Beck winning over Bey, Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran who all cleared multiplatinum status. Morning Phase and its 300k copies sold was definitely a smash

I'm talking about the crying about 1989 winning when it got both acclaim and success.
People tend to forget it's way harder for mainstream pop to get acclaim than it is for a rap album.

I think the grammy community are favorable to people who write and produce their music, atleast the majority of their music. Most the album of the year winner are people who wrote the majority of their album with a few producers. The reason why Beck won over Bey was because he wrote, produce, play a million instruments on his record, and nearly create his entire record all by himself, and also he have been snub by the grammy community for years, while bey has half a dozens to a dozen writers and producers and she wasn't the main writer for a lot of the songs. Urban artist tends to used a lot sample and have paragraphs of producer for one songs. The grammies community hate/dislike artist that use a lot of songwriters ( artist with little to barley any writhing credit) and tons of producers, because they think real artist are the ones that write and produce their records. Unless those views change and urban acts stop using a gazillion producer and writers, i doubt one will win album of the year anytime soon.

but i don't now why Chanel orange and Good Kid, M.A.A.D City was snub though

Metacritic scores don't mean much. This number only represents the acclaim that Lemonade is initially receiving, which is partially awarded based on release hype and the unnecessary visuals.

Does anyone actually think this is better than bona fide classics like Morning Glory, Kid A, and Funeral, all of which have lower scores? Metacritic is pretty irrelevent.
