Hey everybody! I read your conversation and want to join.
With Katy's unstoppable grotesk commercial pop image (in a bad way), her new album could be heavily panned.
Critics are very dependent from image and status of mainstream artists. PRISM was accused for being very
Teenage Dream-ish in technical ways (same type of mainstream production, same style of writing, almost same team). It was like she records two albums in same time, but changed themes of lyrics (by the way, not so much).
I know Will Orbit (producer of Ray of Light) and acclaimed musician M83 wanted to work with her and said about it in media, but why she ignores these calls? She's a fan of M83 music and Madonna's albums, which makes a situation more weird.
She's one of the richest modern musician acts and her videos sometimes looks cheeper than some YouTube parodies.
I agree with opinion that she's so bad wanted to ovetop herself in style, but it looks progressively stupid, not suitable with her growing public status. Katy was more mature in her OOTB when she could be potential one-hit wonder than in PRISM era when she tries to act like college teenager from YouTube (for that time, she's cleared her wonder status and transformed in a POP DIVA, ENTERTAINER, MOGUL).
I wish you well, Katy. Not a huge fan since 2014, but I love her as inspiring, clever person and looking for her as mogul.
