How? This was just a bunch of ninja dornish angels killing their own family, this is like if Sansa killed Rickon and Bran so she can be the Lady of Winterfell.
The books had actually a feminist theme with Arianne taking power and trying to make Myrcella queen.

To be fair, I think he is still warped by his Reek persona. To me, the scene where he hugged Sansa really close was kind of a hint that he is starting to find himself again as Theon.

I'll give it 7.5/10. Solid premiere. Way better than last season.

- Is it just me or this episode was a lot funnier than usual?
Between the Dothraki Bros, Thorne and Davos sparring on opposite sides of the door, and Varys and Tyrion. I loved it.

"Have you ever seen a girl with a white ***** hair?"
"Only when I'm ****ing your grandma."

We really need more Dothraki sex talk , or when the the two dothraki were listing off the things Dothraki enjoy more than seeing a beautiful naked woman in front of Khal Moro. That was some solid subtitled comedy.

- In my head: "Come on Brienne! Where the **** are you, Brienne?......BRIENNE!" And then I yelled "YAAAS!" at the top of my lungs and then I cried watching her take her oath . Goddamn, I've missed this. I hope Brienne and Sansa stay together as long as possible, superwoman in action.

- Lena Headey made me teared up This queen of acting

- Tyrion: "We won't be sailing to Westeros anytime soon."

No one thought you were going to.

- I'm not a huge fan of Arya's "mysterious and cruel" training. That **** got tired last season. SPEED IT UP!

So good to have this show back! Decent premiere, lots of set-ups which is understandable, but the episode felt too damn short. Was hoping to see Bran at some point.

Cheered when Sansa and Brienne reunited.

And gasped at the final scene! Wth, Melissandre! I was eating!

This was a great season opener! Much better than Season 5's snoozefest.

I was particulary stoked at Sansa/Theon/Brienne/Pod's scene. I was rooting and hollering because I thought they were going to be captured! Brienne saved the day..for now.

Mother of Dragons reminding the Dothraki who the **** she is.. Even though she'll have to go to a safehouse for former Khaleesi's.

The Dorne storyline really shocked me. I'm not sure where it's heading, but it was interesting..moreso than last seasons borefest.

Arya's storyline needs to pickup..was missing Bran last night..and Tyrion and The Spider are always a joy to watch.

Lord Bolton reminds me of Tywin..he's smart and Ramsey betta be careful..they know they can't do anything without Sansa.. KIIIII.

And of course, the shocking ending of Melisandre being a old wrinkled woman..great ending!

The girl Theon pushed off the wall at the end of last season. Ramsey's childhood friend who was jealous of Sansa and kinda tried to kill her.

Like 46-47 minutes without opening/ending credits...

Previous episodes were at least 5-6 minutes longer, right?

Yeah it's the shortest season opener compared to all others.

Someone made this point regarding Melisandre being in the bath in S4 without the necklace on.

Basically Selyse was seeing the young version of Melisandre even without the necklace or potions, because she was so devout to the Red God because Melisandre says something like she doesn't need to use "tricks" on true believers like Selyse

or that Selyse actually did see Melisandre's true form and the viewers didn't because she looks pretty disgusted at M in the bath

The Dorne storyline How did 3 women took over so easily, a lil bit unrealistic, but not in the "it's fantasy" type of way.

I can't wait to see the dragons and Bran.

Also I wonder if it's possible that Mellissandre has something to do with that 3 eyed raven - the grandpa who is teaching Bran. I mean he also seemed pretty old so yeah...

Khaleesi and the Dotrakis was such a good scene

Yes, and she failed at that.

My point was that Dorne in the books isn't as good as some of the ASOIAF fans are making it out to be. The fact that the story hasn't translated well on screen shouldn't be surprising.
