EXACTLYYY, THAT is the thing I'm more excited for!

I'm in my Yu-Gi-Oh! personal re-runs, aka watching episode by episode series after series, and I'm right now in episode 108 of DM, and I remember in one of the 90s episodes when:

Shadi appears and goes through the battle ship looking for the millennium items and finds Bakura lying on bed while Anzu is possessed by the ring, he gives Bakura a "hating look". Then in episode 96 when Marik tells his backstory he talks about Shadi and Bakura says "that white-clothed man must be Shadi, but he's supposed to be dead".. at that moment I rememeber Bakura killed Shadi but they NEVER explained how and when. And now the movie seems to FINALLY explain this, and they say the scene is glorious, dark and extreme , CAN'T FREAKING WAIT!

At least DM was never intended for kids, you can obviously see that in the Japanese version...
but then it came to 4kids hands and they turned it into a kid's show that I actually find awkward cuz the designs of the characters look really adultish and kid's shows clearly show kids as protagonists, like Pokémon, Digimon, etc. lol

It's okay if you like it, as long as someone likes Yu-Gi-Oh! even if it's the dub it's okay.
The problem comes when people INSULT Yu-Gi-Oh! cuz they think the show is stupid, because that's the dub's fault.

i loved the original yugioh! it was my highlight of weekend morning... if i was missing an episode i was so sad... But i do remember that they were dragging the fights for so long that an episode could literally had 90% talking and just 2 to 3 moves

Yeah, I remember waking up Saturday mornings just to watch the new episode! Ahh the feels i hated when they had a new episode at like 8am then had another at like 11am since I would usually miss the 1st one haha. I loved when we got the 2 new episodes from 11am-12pm. I use to go on that Warner Kids or whatever website it was called all the time.

Yugi vs Kaiba at Battle City lasting for 6 episodes That was still an amazing duel tho.

Battle City's Yugi vs Kaiba is by far my favorite duel of all of DM. So actually I'm glad that it lasted that long. But we have to consider the fact that Jounouchi had his "duel" (by dreaming) in those episodes as well, so that is what made it last that long.

Lemme give my opinions on the duels you chose:

Yugi vs Mai - Duelist Kingdom - Loved it, mostly for the emotional fact, good character development.
Yugi vs Pegasus - Duelist Kingdom - Doesn't need explanation. Epic.
Yugi vs Arkana - Battle City - Dark Magician vs Dark Magician?? Hell yeah! Amazing.
Yugi vs Joey vs Kaiba vs Marik - Battle City Finals - Something different so it was cool.
Yugi vs Kaiba - Battle City Finals - THE BEST ONE
Joey vs Mai - Season Four [Both] - The feelings in the second duel were amazing, I actually wanted to cried with the conclusion.
Yugi vs Weevil - Season Four - Basically the highlight of the duel is only the iconic and now memetic "DORO! MONSTA CAADO" of Yugi OTK Haga.
Joey vs Rex - Season Four - Nothing special tbh. Just good to see Ryuzaki dueling again.
Yugi vs Yami - Season Four [In the Graveyard or w/e] - I felt like something was missing in that duel, I couldn't feel the pain of the characters, what what else can you expect from a duel where Yoshida (the worst writer and mysoginist) was involved?
Rebecca vs Vivian - Season Five - ICONIC
Yugi vs Yami - The Final Duel - No words. My heart broke with that duel, tears all over my face.

I'm surprised Noah's duel isn't in your list, since it stands in the Top 5 for me, cuz all of the "Creation of the Earth" symbolism.

I edited and added Tea vs Crump from the Virtual World arc. For obvious reasons.

Wait what? How couldn't you feel the pain of the characters in the Yugi / Yami ghost duel It's the episode that always upsets me the most. There's something about sweet little innocent Yugi turning evil that really gets me in it. Also when he sacrifices Dark Magician Girl, it breaks my heart

Rebecca vs Vivian is just so great coz of the trash-talking. Calling her "Viv" all the time

Wasn't really a fan of Noah or the Virtual World in general (although, I did like the Deck Master idea and it's similarities to Duelist of the Roses). The duel was a'ight, I suppose, but I didn't watch it much coz I wasn't a fan of his character.

Anzu vs Penguin also slays.

I couldn't feel the feelings that much, I mean, I got the point the writers tried to make, but the animation and voice acting in the episode felt underwhelming. And I'm talking about the original version. I can't take the dub seriously so even less feelings felt in there lol. Yeah, when he sacrifices DMG I could feel the pain, but I just couldn't connect with the character, not sure what happened. Let's see if this time when I reach this episode in my personal re-runs I get to feel something, I'm at episode 109 of DM right now.

Rebecca vs Vivian was amazing but mostly cuz the duel strategy of Rebecca, since seeing a Burn deck work in anime isn't something that you get to see a lot, let alone letting the burning deck user win the duel in such a flawless way like Rebecca did.

Noah was amazing, I really loved the kid, this is another case where you need to watch the original to understand his feelings, since his backstory is one of the most heart-breaking things in YGO history, and when Gozaburo appears and trash-talks him, it just destroys me cuz you can't say your child that you're happy that he was dead. You just can't, **** you Gozaburo.

I just finished watching that Mai vs. Marik episode on Netflix lol her Amazoness cards slay me! And I didn't realize how ****ed up the Kaiba vs. Ishizu duel was. They literally couldn't keep track of the cards in their hands because the art work kept changing every time we saw their hands.

I just imagined being on a tournament and about to summon my strongest monster and the referee being like: "Wait, were you born in France? Cuz only people who were born in France can use that card".
I'd be like, wtf dude??? Mai felt the same cuz she wasn't born in Egypt.
