MJ was more impressive. His music was largely available on youtube and 2009 was iTunes's peak.

But Prince is proving his icon status and respect of the GP for his artistry. When Whitney died, she definitely had that icon status but not the music artistry to back up her legacy. That's the difference.

Even I think Prince is deserving of the legend status.
