I am beyond devastated by this news and had to maintain my composure at the gym when this story broke. We've lost two musical legends among legends this year. First David Bowie and now Prince. I know this board tends to skew very young, but please make this the day you listen to a Prince album from start to finish. Purple Rain and 1999 are my personal suggestions. Two absolutely legendary pieces of art.
I have a class to teach and a paper to write. And instead I'm staring at my twitter feed being really upset that one of the true legends is gone. Prince changed the world of music more than any of you know and even at his most assholeishness he was true to himself.
A true legend never dies but lives on in their music. Prince's legend will live on for a long time. RIP oh purple one.
