Sorry, but in NO world can you twist a career defining hit 9 week #1 an underperformance in ANY era. The ways in which success is tracked and calculated is very variable in this place in time. There are so many things that go into it. Rihanna's #s look weak but she's the most streamed female artist? That's not a minuscule feat by any means.... like, SPS, the album is already at north of 800K.
What I've never seen is so many people collectively BARKING "flop!!!" over and over when it's not even true.
The era will be considered a success when all is set and done and nothing is going to change that.
