No one here is overestimating NM. We've realized the potential of this single since day one (check the first few pages of this thread) while y'all were busy stanning for KIB (which I prefer).

It's VERY rare for a Rihanna (or any artist) non-lead single to blow up like this. How is expecting a Top 3 peak a stretch?Are you estimating a #7 peak? All signs are pointing to the fact that this song has the momentum for that. Its radio chart run has JUST begun and it'll most likely make it to Top 20 on Hot 100 next week. There's almost no chance that this will suddenly die down with Work descending the charts.

This will become a streaming monster within a month. If the video is buzz-worthy then it will generate some good views on youtube and more sales. It all depends on HOW and WHEN the video will do.

One Dance is a pop radio hit. It has the 4th biggest bullet in the top 50.

Needed Me doesn't need pop radio to become a smash hit. But it does need pop radio to become a #1 peaking smash hit, imo. Not that I'll be mad if it peaks at #2, #3 or #4. Just saying

Girl... #10 on pop has 80M AI, which is more than the combined AI urban and rhythmic are giving to their #1 song (which is Work, actually ).

Needed Me will effortlessly crack the top 5, possibly even top 3, and smash with no pop support. But it needs those extra millions of AI to compete with Drake, who'll be top 15 / top 10 on pop by then. That's all.

Also Work had the viral streaming factor that Panda has. That's what pushed both songs over 30M streams per week, which is huge. Extremely doubtful Needed Me will get that.

It went top 10 only bc of her name and bc it was smashing. They had to support it but radio is not the reason it went #1. It went because of the streams!!! And don't doubt needed me. Let's wait for the video. And what I meant was, songs can SMASH without radio. Especially pop radio.

Surely Needed Me will get decent pop support? The reason it isn't right now is because Kiss It Better got sent to pop instead.

But The Hills and Hotline Bling both got to #2 on pop and also I think Needed Me is more pop friendly than Work. It might not be as catchy but part of the problem with Work on pop is that a lot of pop listeners don't like the fact that they can't understand most of the lyrics in Work, but that's not a problem with Needed Me.

And they could always make a pop radio edit like they do with some country songs, or even send a dance remix to pop to help it.
